Once you submit the contact form, the BYX chapter at your university will receive your contact details. Your journey to becoming a BYX member begins with attending rush events, followed by an interview, and then receiving an invitation to start our New Member Process, which is also commonly known as Pledgeship.
If you have any questions that aren’t covered here, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our staff at admin@byx.org via email.
A rush event is a casual and engaging opportunity for potential new members (PNM) to connect with current chapter members, learn about BYX and membership, and sign up for an interview. Some examples of rush events include: cookouts, sports nights, formal dinners, open chapter meetings, or worship nights.
Often called “Rush Week”, rush events are typically held near the start of each academic semester. Depending on campus policies, some chapters may host rush events during the summer or winter months as well.
BYX Pledgeship is aimed to develop Godly men and prepare them for membership in our fraternity. Core to our founding purpose and values, BYX sets a new standard for what it means to “pledge a fraternity.” When you embark on the journey of joining BYX, you can anticipate a meaningful, thrilling, and spiritually enriching experience that fosters lasting bonds with your brothers for life.
Following the example set by Mark 10:45 – “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” – our current BYX members are dedicated to pouring into, serving, and providing support to new members of the BYX fraternity.
According to the 2022-23 BYX Pledgeship Survey, 94% of New Members reported that Pledgeship significantly contributed to their growth as men of God, and 89% reported that they have matured in their faith since joining.
