David Pearson

After 13 years of serving on the Board of Directors, David joined the Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX) staff team in 2022 as Chief Executive Officer to ensure alignment of our mission, vision, values and purpose, for all stakeholders (members, parents, alumni, staff, donors and board) across the organization (Fraternity, Foundation and Housing).

Married to his best friend since high school, David and Sara have enjoyed over 30 years together and cherish (most of the time) their three children, Katherine, Luke and Sam. The Pearson children attend Texas A&M University and DISD public school(s), participating in a myriad of school and club sports. Sara is a retired teacher, currently serving as Pearson Family CHO (Chief Household Officer) and Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Teaching Leader.

When not working, David can be found at youth sporting events or elsewhere outdoors fishing and hunting. He is very active in his church, leading a youth small group for six years, participating in missions, various committees, and Young Life. David and Sara also spend time assisting organizations who invest in the community through various board level engagements.

Gabe McKinney

Growing up in Richardson, Texas, and raised by their mother alongside his twin brother and older brother, Gabe was introduced to Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX) through his high school Young Life leader, a BYX alumnus. That early glimpse into authentic Christian brotherhood would shape his future.

Gabe pledged BYX in 2011 as a freshman at Texas A&M University. He served in many leadership roles at the chapter, including pledge team member, Cell Group Leader, Chaplain, and multiple chairman positions. In addition to BYX, he was actively involved in Impact freshman orientation, youth mentorship, Sky Ranch camps, part-time jobs, and Grace Bible Church. These experiences deepened his passion for discipleship and leadership formation.

Graduating in 2015 with a degree in Business Management, Gabe joined the BYX national staff full-time in August 2016. Over the past decade he has served in numerous leadership capacities, including Leadership Consultant, Director of Spiritual Culture, Director of Operations, Director of the Housing Corporation, and now Executive Director of Fraternity. In his current role, Gabe primarily oversees the national staff and collegiate experience, carrying a deep desire for each member to discover the transformative power of brotherhood and unity in Christ.

Gabe lives in New York with his wife, Tasha, where they can often be found cheering for the Aggies and getting outside whenever possible—running, playing sports, or exploring the outdoors together.

Jared Lyda

Jared’s journey with Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX) began in the Fall of 2012 at Texas A&M University, where he pledged as a freshman seeking meaningful connections on a vast campus. BYX quickly became a cornerstone of his college experience, offering deep friendships and a sense of community that made a massive university feel smaller. During his time in the chapter, Jared served on the pledge team and as Vice President.

Jared graduated from A&M in 2015 with an undergraduate degree in Leadership, equipping him with foundational skills in guiding teams and building organizations, preparing him for his ongoing work in fraternity development and chapter support.

Throughout his journey with Jesus, Jared has consistently served on worship teams at the churches he has attended, playing electric guitar or drums to help lead congregations in praise. He has also invested in the next generation by serving in high school ministry, discipling young students and supporting their spiritual growth.

Today, Jared serves as the Executive Director of BYX Housing, a vital extension of the national fraternity’s mission. In this role, he provides strategic direction as the organization expands into meaningful engagement with chapter housing, ensuring safe, intentional living environments that reinforce BYX’s values of brotherhood, accountability, and faith.

The center of Jared’s life is his family, which he considers his foremost priority and ministry. He is married to Emma, and together they are raising two daughters.

Dr. Jared Musgrove

Jared’s quarter-century leadership with Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX) is not merely professional, but very personal.

His BYX story began at the University of Oklahoma in 2001, where he was deeply shaped by the brotherhood and mission of the fraternity. During his college years, he served twice as Chaplain and later as President, helping establish the OU chapter through its initial years of spiritual growth, organizational structure, and missional clarity. Those years forged his lifelong conviction that fraternity and Greek life ordered under Christ is one of the most powerful discipleship environments for young men.

Jared was named Outstanding Journalist in his class at the nation’s #1 media program at OU. He later earned his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Southern Seminary. In 2018, OU honored him as Outstanding Greek Alumnus.

Jared has served as a pastor and church elder in multiple church contexts, including tenured leadership within an internationally renowned megachurch. Beyond the local church, his work included nonprofit executive leadership, ministry consulting, and board service, with a particular focus on men’s spiritual formation, leadership development, and organizational health.

Today, Jared serves in senior leadership with BYX, helping guide the fraternity’s national leadership programs, development strategy, storytelling, and expansion. He is the host of Man to Men — BYX’s audio journal podcast, where he leads thoughtful conversations on faith, masculinity, leadership, and transformation. He is also a commercially published writer.

The heart of Jared’s life is his family. He is married to Jenny, and together they are the proud parents of two young men, Jordan and Joshua.

Jason Hoyt

Jason Hoyt joined Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX) in the spring of 1997 at the Gamma Chapter at Texas A&M University, where he was shaped by the brotherhood and discipleship culture of the fraternity. During his collegiate years, Jason served as a cell group leader for seven semesters and as cell group chaplain for two semesters. Through BYX, the Lord formed lifelong friendships that still define Jason’s understanding of Christian community today.

Jason graduated from Texas A&M University in 2000 with a degree in Finance and later earned his Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2009.

Beyond BYX, Jason is deeply invested in the life of the local church and the broader Christian mission. He and his family are members of The Mount Church in Keller, Texas, where he serves as a community group leader and a deacon. He also serves on the board of Frontier Church, a developing church plant in Aledo, Texas, and contributes to the broader Greek community as a board member of the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence.

After several years in corporate finance and accounting, Jason joined the BYX staff in the fall of 2004. Over the past two decades, he has served in multiple senior leadership roles, including Executive Director of the Fraternity (2004–2018), Executive Director of the House Corporation (2018–2021), and Executive Director of the BYX Foundation (2018–present). Through these seasons, Jason has played a central role in stewarding the operational, financial, and organizational health of BYX, helping position the fraternity for long-term sustainability and faithfulness.

Jason married his wife, Ashley,in 2003, and together they are raising four children: Addison, James, Joshua, and Jordan.
