Want BYX at your school?

If you or someone you know is interested in joining BYX at one of our campuses above, the next step is to fill out the contact form. Don’t see your school listed? Consider starting a new chapter.

Once you submit the contact form, the BYX chapter at your university will receive your contact details. Your journey to becoming a BYX member begins with attending rush events, followed by an interview, and then receiving an invitation to start our New Member Process, which is also commonly known as Pledgeship.

If you have any questions that aren’t covered here, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our staff at admin@byx.org via email.

BYX Q&A

A rush event is a casual and engaging opportunity for potential new members (PNM) to connect with current chapter members, learn about BYX and membership, and sign up for an interview. Some examples of rush events include: cookouts, sports nights, formal dinners, open chapter meetings, or worship nights.

Often called “Rush Week”, rush events are typically held near the start of each academic semester. Depending on campus policies, some chapters may host rush events during the summer or winter months as well.

Interviews ensure that every potential new member (PNM) is seen, known, and thoughtfully considered for membership in BYX. In an interview, a PNM will be able to share more about themselves, ask questions about BYX, and understand our values. We believe in getting to know you personally and fostering a meaningful connection, which is why interviews are an integral part of our selection process.

BYX Pledgeship is aimed to develop Godly men and prepare them for membership in our fraternity. Core to our founding purpose and values, BYX sets a new standard for what it means to “pledge a fraternity.” When you embark on the journey of joining BYX, you can anticipate a meaningful, thrilling, and spiritually enriching experience that fosters lasting bonds with your brothers for life.

Following the example set by Mark 10:45 – “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” – our current BYX members are dedicated to pouring into, serving, and providing support to new members of the BYX fraternity.

According to the 2022-23 BYX Pledgeship Survey, 94% of New Members reported that Pledgeship significantly contributed to their growth as men of God, and 89% reported that they have matured in their faith since joining.

The duration of BYX Pledgeship varies from campus to campus, typically spanning a period of 6-12 weeks. Each week of the pledgeship process is planned with purpose and intentionality. At the end of Pledgeship, new members are officially initiated into the fraternity.
