March 2025 – Every year, the University of Oklahoma hosts their prestigious Greek Life Awards. This event honors the excellence of both fraternity and sorority spheres on campus.
The BYX Kappa Chapter at the University of Oklahoma won a host of Interfraternal Council (IFC) awards that recognize their exceptional efforts during the year of 2024. IFC is a governing body for fraternities on a university campus, acting as a central point for communication, policy creation, and promotion of shared values and interests among member fraternities.
The BYX Kappa Chapter won the “IFC Chapter of the Year” Award amongst OU’s sizeable fraternity community. This achievement not only recognizes BYX as the model of excellence among fraternities at the University of Oklahoma, but it also is an unprecedented accomplishment:
The Kappa Chapter was recognized as the most excellent chapter in their first year as being part of IFC.
Luke Harbour, 2024 Kappa Chapter President, shared how their men have reacted to this incredible feat, “The Kappa Chapter is incredibly honored to have won these awards, and it is honestly still an unbelievable moment that every man in the chapter is soaking in.”
The individual award of “Outstanding Greek Senior” was also received by a collegiate member of the Kappa Chapter, Aiden Dodd. Dodd founded the Know Your Candidate program, a university-wide, non-partisan voter outreach initiative. He had also been recognized for his leadership contributions to BYX, student government, academics, OU Athletics, and more.
The third award received was the “Gold Status for Standards of Excellence”recognizing the cumulative achievement of having social events, service hours, and general contributions to the Greek community on campus. Only four IFC fraternities achieved gold status this year, one of those being the Kappa Chapter of Beta Upsilon Chi.
In 2024, the BYX Kappa Chapter at the University of Oklahoma reached the pinnacle of accomplishment in the Greek community. Because BYX models Jesus Christ to every campus and every Greek community, modeling excellence for His glory is always the standard.
